Our Field Hospital Medical Services

In June, HEAL Palestine opened a new field hospital in Mawasi (Khan Younis), with Kuwait Specialist Hospital in Rafah, to help ensure the continuation of health services in Gaza. There are 227 staff there, including medical specialist, general and emergency doctors, nurses, midwives, paramedics, X-ray technicians, anesthesia technicians, laboratory technicians, ambulance drivers, administrative workers, security and cleaners.

There are 84 beds (50 inpatient and 34 emergency)

It spans approximately 6,000 meters, includes the following essential medical services and infrastructure:

– Emergency Departments: With four fully operational emergency departments, we’re equipped to handle a wide range of urgent medical needs promptly and efficiently.

– Clinics: Our Fourteen specialized clinics ensure comprehensive healthcare coverage, addressing various medical conditions and needs within our community.

– Dental Clinics: We offer two dedicated dental clinics, providing essential oral health services and treatments.

– Operating Theater (OT): Our hospital features a state-of-the-art operating theater to facilitate surgical interventions and procedures as needed.

– Department of Obstetrics: we’ll commence specialized obstetric care services, supporting expecting mothers through pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.

– Diagnostic Imaging: Equipped with advanced imaging technologies including X-ray, panoramic imaging, and ultrasound (US), we enable accurate and timely diagnoses.

– Laboratory Services: Our fully functional laboratory is equipped to conduct a comprehensive range of medical tests, aiding in diagnosis and treatment planning.

– Inpatient Beds: With a capacity of 50 beds, we provide comfortable and supportive inpatient care for those requiring extended medical observation or treatment.

– Ambulances: four ambulances ensures swift and efficient transportation of patients, facilitating timely access to medical care when needed.

– Medical Team Tents: In addition to our permanent facilities, we have set up medical team tents to expand our capacity and offer medical assistance in various settings and conditions.
